The Gabriola Island Health Care Foundation, Society and Auxiliary have been nominated for an Islands Trust Community Stewardship Award in recognition of them building the Gabriola Island Urgent Care Clinic. According to a Trust-wide press release sent out this past week, islanders have nominated 14 individuals and four groups for the 11th annual awards.
Jill Adamson, President of the Gabriola Health Care Foundation said, “This nomination is in reality the nomination of every Gabriolan involved in bringing the Gabriola Community Health Centre to fruition by the sweat of their brows and the emptying of their pockets. Well done each and every one of you.”
The Islands Trust Council will select the recipients during its quarterly meeting on North Pender Island in June. The award program recognizes people for work that supports the Islands Trust mandate to preserve and protect the trust area and its unique environment and amenities.
A full list of nominees can be seen at islandstrust.bc.ca.
