Gabriola clinic shows what community can do

Gabriola clinic shows what community can do

I live on Gabriola Island, and our community has come together to build a new medical clinic which has just been completed. Apart from a grant of $100,000 from the Vancouver Island Health Authority, the whole project from start to finish has been made possible by donations from the public and volunteer workers to design and build the entire clinic.
It has taken a long time (years) and many, many fundraising efforts on the part of the volunteers. This new clinic has to be seen to be believed, along with a helicopter pad, and all the work done by Gabriola volunteers. Apart from VIHA contribution, no handouts from any other government organization. What an achievement.
